MIND AFRICA ‘GREAT MINDS, SKILLED HANDS’

MIND Foundation is a start-up non-profit, non-governmental organization founded 2006. Our mission is to bridge the Literacy and Digital divide by using ICT to foster life-long learning and hands-on education for children and youth of our nation and then Africa.

Our Vision is to be the catalyst for a decade-long mind revolution resulting in several generations of sharp-minded, highly skilled youth who have the moral foundation, direction, educational & ICT skills to compete in the global economy by the end of a decade. MIND proteges who appreciate their potential for leadership and have a community perspective with a passion for excellence. Knowing that the quality of education children receive will invariably influence their likelihood of achieving their potential and playing a positive role in shaping their communities, MIND is providing lifelong learning opportunities for children and youth who would otherwise be left behind MIND offers FREE training to young boys and girls of rural communities (and other economically disadvantaged sectors) designed to equip them with a broad set of skills and competencies that will make them globally competitive, enhance creativity and income generation and prepare them for productive adult life.

As part of the scheduled activities for MIND students in Comprehensive Community Secondary School Rumukwurushe, an end-of-term revision program was held from the 5th to 8th of April, 2012. The objective of the program was to review and build on the knowledge and skills acquired during previous training sessions and also to prepare the students for upcoming programs scheduled for the next school term. Comprised of exciting hands-on activities, the program ended with oral and digital presentations by the students on the 8th of April. With the aid of audio/visual aids, they showcased their digital skills (amongst others) before a very impressed audience.

MIND Foundation is working with students from under-resourced schools and other economically disadvantaged sectors in Nigeria by providing free learning opportunities where they can acquire skills and knowledge that would enable them compete globally. With a focus on ICT, MIND Foundation is able to integrate ICT-enabled learning in an informal training program that promotes students achievement, harnesses individual potential through vocational training for youth and teaches life skills and ethics based on timeless leadership principles so that vulnerable Nigerian youth can rise above their challenges and live productive lives.

MIND Foundation is a not-for-profit organization and partners with corporate and individual organizations that share her vision. To be fair, this is a good initiative. You only need to seek resources to drive it. Please try to extend this to young people of the last mile too so that the benefits can spread. Nice One
